    Postcode Helper Chrome Extension

    Last updated: 2026-06-01

The "Postcode Helper by SYNQ" Chrome extension ("the extension") is a free tool published by SYNQ that helps Amazon sellers, marketers, and researchers quickly change their delivery postcode in Amazon's "Choose your location" dialog across 20 Amazon marketplaces.

    Data we collect

    None automatically.

The only data that ever leaves your device is what you voluntarily submit through the optional "Share feedback / Report a bug" form (see "Feedback and bug reports" below). Outside of that form, the extension does not collect personally identifiable information, send any data to SYNQ or third parties, use analytics/telemetry/error reporting, or read or transmit Amazon page content other than the value typed into the "Add custom postcode" form.

    Feedback and bug reports

The extension includes an optional "Share feedback / Report a bug" form in the toolbar popup and the in-page helper panel. It is entirely voluntary and nothing is sent unless you fill it in and click send.

When you submit the form, the following is transmitted to SYNQ:

    • The message you type.
    • Your name and email address, only if you choose to enter them (both optional).
    • A screenshot of the current tab, only if you choose to capture or attach one. The screenshot is auto-captured into the form so you can preview it, but it is never transmitted unless you submit; you can remove it before sending.
    • Basic context to help us reproduce the issue: the URL of the page you were on, the extension version, and your browser's user-agent string.

This data is sent to a SYNQ-operated backend endpoint (hosted on Supabase) and forwarded to an internal SYNQ support channel (Slack) so we can read and act on your feedback or fix the reported bug. It is used only for that purpose. It is not sold, not shared with third parties for their own purposes, and not used for advertising, tracking, profiling, or automated decision-making. To request deletion of submitted feedback, contact hello@wearesynq.com.

Data the extension stores locally on your device

The extension stores the following data only on your own device, using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.sync API:

    • Custom postcodes you save through the extension's "Add custom" form, including the city name and postcode you entered, and the timestamp at which you saved them.

This data is stored in your Chrome profile and is synchronized across your own Chrome installations by Google's standard Chrome Sync, if you have Chrome Sync enabled. It never reaches SYNQ.

You can clear this data at any time by removing or reinstalling the extension, or from inside the extension popup using the "remove" button next to each custom postcode.

Permissions the extension requests and why

    • storage — to save your custom postcodes locally via chrome.storage.sync (see above).
    • scripting — to fill the postcode field on the active Amazon tab when you click a postcode in the toolbar popup. This runs only on the active Amazon tab, only after you click, and only writes into Amazon's existing postcode input.
    • activeTab — to detect which Amazon marketplace the currently-active tab is on, so the popup shows the right country's curated postcodes. It is also used to capture a screenshot only when the user opens the feedback form.
    • Host permissions on *://*.amazon.*/* — the extension runs only on Amazon storefronts (amazon.com, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.co.uk, amazon.it, amazon.es, amazon.se, amazon.pl, amazon.com.be, amazon.com.tr, amazon.co.jp, amazon.com.au, amazon.ca, amazon.com.mx, amazon.com.br, amazon.in, amazon.sa, amazon.ae, amazon.sg, amazon.eg). It does not run, inject content, or read data on any non-Amazon site.
    • Host permission on SYNQ's backend (*.supabase.co) — used only to deliver a feedback or bug report that you explicitly submit through the in-extension form. No request is made unless you submit the form.

    Children

The extension does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

    Changes

Any changes to this policy will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
